rcsprouljr_1302198402_73R.C. Sproul Jr. shares his perspective as to why the Church bears responsibility for our national sin of abortion-on-demand. His second point hits hard:

Second, we are profoundly indifferent. The church long ago began to look at our annual holocaust as a political issue, a social problem, and our corporate attempts to deal with it as a movement. Just as murdering moms soothe themselves with the lie that it’s just tissue, so we soothe ourselves with the lie that voting Republican and writing a check to the local crisis pregnancy center is enough. Few pulpits will preach against this great evil in our midst. Fewer still will take the gospel to the gates of hell that is the local killing center. We just don’t care. Anything that costs us, we will not do.
