Mondays are an opportunity to share a featured abortion mill or two with our North Carolina abolitionists. These articles will be titled, Abortion Mill Mondays, and will meet the following objectives:

  1. to shed light on one of North Carolina’s 21 abortion mills responsible for the murder of approximately 85 children per day.
  2. to mobilize and encourage Christians to minister at mills in their community
  3. to prepare and equip them to minister at these facilities

The ultimate goal is to expose the works of darkness at these death camps for pre-born infants, to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ to set sinners free from bondage, to offer real hope and assistance to abortion-minded parents, and to shut these facilities down by a Gospel-presence and agitation.

This week’s featured abortion mills include two sites in Raleigh:

A Preferred Women’s Health Center

A Woman’s Choice of Raleigh

Sidewalk counselor Patte Smith has been ministering at these Raleigh abortion mills for a couple of years and offers some helpful insight. She and her husband, itinerant street preacher Scott Smith, travel along the East Coast preaching the Gospel on street corners, college campuses, and abortion mills, and desire to see an army of faithful Christians raised up to consistently minister at these mills in Raleigh. Though they are not always in town, Patte offers to network like-minded Christians in the area and can be contacted at pattesmith@gmail.com. You might also find their websites helpful:

Sanctuary Ministries

Schoolmaster Ministries

A Preferred Women’s Health Center (APWHC)

What: abortions up to 20 weeks gestation
When: Monday – Friday: 9:30am – 11am;  Saturday: 8am – 11am
Where: 1604 Jones Franklin Road
Raleigh, NC 27606

Patte indicates there is a decent pro-life Catholic presence at APWHC on some Fridays and most Saturdays, but the evangelical Christian presence is woefully absent (though there is a late Saturday morning contingent from Hope Reformed Baptist Church out of Wake Forest, she stated). Patte informs there is no regular commitment from evangelical Christians on Monday through Thursday, so there is a desperate need for Christians to rise up to this calling.

Sidewalk counselors may stand on either side of the driveway at APWHC

Patte shares the following with regards to ministry logistics at the APWHC killing place:

In order to minister outside APWHC Christians must stand on the public right of way in front of the mill. They may also stand on either side of the driveway. One may preach from the public easement, which places the preacher about 100 feet or so from the door.

Permits for amplification can be obtained from the city of Raleigh. The fine print, however, allows officers to shut you down at their discretion because it is written that amplification equipment must have a built-in decibel meter. I have not found one yet, which an officer told me was their ‘catch 22’. We use a plastic megaphone when our amplification is shut down.

Patte also recommends calling APWHC to inquire of the killing times before arriving, as they are subject to change. She also recommends

that mission-minded Christians arrive 45 minutes BEFORE the killing time & plan to remain until at least 30 minutes past the latest abortion time. This will insure that they have engaged every single abortion-bound mom & baby with the gospel of life & eternity.

A Woman’s Choice of Raleigh (AWC)

What: abortions up to 20 weeks gestation
When: Monday: 1pm
Tuesday: 1pm
Wednesday: 10am
Thursday: 9am
Friday: 9am
Saturday: 9am
Where: 3305 Drake Circle
Raleigh, NC 27607
919-781-6811 / 800-540-5690

Patte says there is the same general Catholic presence at AWC, but hardly any Christian presence. Regarding the logistics, she notes:

Sidewalk counselors may stand in any of these grassy areas at AWC

Christians may stand in a grassy area across the narrow street. (No sidewalks.) They may also stand in the grass in front of the Easter Seals business, next to WC. It is common for abortion-bound moms & their companions to park in the Easter Seals lot (LEFT in photo), affording Christians good opportunity to approach them at their car & walk with them to the driveway of the killing place. “Patients” also park at other business parking lots on the street. One must keep a watchful eye & be very assertive in approaching the aborting moms. Some of the mothers will drive into the WC driveway & park in the back, & walk around the building to get into the front door. So we can speak with them as they come around the corner.

Christians may lift up their voice, with amplification or a truth horn [plastic megaphone], from the grassy area (RIGHT in photo).

Regarding either abortion mill, APWHC or AWC, Patte shares:

Signs are very important & helpful at these abortuaries. APW is on a very busy street, so the signs serve to address the aborting moms & to expose the unfruitful deeds of darkness to the community.

The following undercover video takes you inside AWC revealing how supportive they are of gender-selective abortions, and how they are more than willing to murder little girls simply because they are girls (pro-women?):

Christians, are you ready to answer the call in your community? Though a video illustrating the shortcoming of Charlotte churches in our community, no doubt this video will speak to the churches in the Raleigh community: Will You Answer the Call?

Are you ready to step into the battle?

We invite you to visit our Church Exhortation page to better understand the local church’s responsibility to engage in this warfare for souls and lives. You might also see our A Call to Action on Abortion Letter and share with the churches in your community so to wake them up to the reality of abortion.

Please contact us if you would like to network with Christians in your area to minister at these abortion mills. You might also need to be equipped or like to have your ministry listed on our Sidewalk Ministries page.  We are also willing to help you and your church establish a Gospel-centered sidewalk ministry.
